Maggie Grace and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. She was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of school when her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. Even though she had financial difficulties, her 2001 debut was as Rachel's Room's main character. The role she played in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford's character she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the series to pursue a film career. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. In addition, she appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern interpretation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes, playing Shannon. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 until the year 2014. She plays Faith who's both the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. A member of the Gyllenhaal clan, she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she played small parts in the films of her father and co-starred with her older twin brother on Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for a Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and the romantic comedy Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. In the wake of several successful commercial films like World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). She was nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). In the following years, she appeared in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Apart from her character as a Secret Service agent, she was also seen as a character in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). Her most recent roles were her character as the primary protagonist in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's debut as a director and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
